FedEx, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp, has announced a collaboration with Invest India to support the Indian government's One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. This partnership aims to assist Indian small businesses by providing them access to global markets, enhancing capacity building, and offering branding opportunities.

The ODOP initiative seeks to promote unique products from each district across India. It is aligned with the Prime Minister's vision for balanced regional development and aims to enhance livelihoods by showcasing India's diverse craftsmanship. The program supports local artisans and manufacturers, contributing to the Make in India vision by fostering innovation and enabling competition on a global scale.

"FedEx was founded on the belief that a connected world is a better world," said Kami Viswanathan, president of FedEx Middle East, India Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA). "Through our collaboration with Invest India, we aim to address challenges faced by local producers, providing tailored solutions to simplify global logistics. Together, we are boosting exports and driving sustainable economic growth."

FedEx plans to use its global network and logistics expertise to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in accessing international markets. The company will also lead webinars, workshops, and events in association with Invest India. These initiatives aim to improve brand visibility and product quality for artisans while integrating ODOP clusters into its SME Connect platform for knowledge sharing.

Nivruti Rai, managing director and CEO of Invest India said: "ODOP initiative is dedicated to globally promoting over 1,200 unique indigenous products from 750+ districts... Together, we are not only fostering the economic growth of these producers but also enabling them to share their stories and innovations on a global stage."

Both organizations are committed to advancing the ODOP initiative by improving SMEs' global competitiveness and supporting India's economic development.
