American Express has introduced a new series of Amex Offers, providing targeted cardholders with the opportunity to earn bonus Membership Rewards points on eligible Amazon purchases. The latest offer allows some cardholders to earn up to 3,600 Membership Rewards points for purchases made with an enrolled card by December 31.

Katie Genter, a senior writer at TPG, reported finding an offer on her Business Platinum Card® from American Express. This offer provides 1,200 additional Membership Rewards points after spending a minimum of $150 on Amazon purchases, with a cap of 3,600 points in total. "The 3,600-point cap means the offer only applies to up to $450 in spending," she noted.

Emily Thompson, TPG's Credit Cards Editor, discovered the same offer on her American Express® Gold Card. Meanwhile, Augusta Stone, an associate credit cards writer at TPG, found an offer for 500 Membership Rewards points after spending $50 or more on Amazon purchases. Her total potential reward is capped at 1,500 points.

The Amex Business Platinum card typically earns one point per dollar spent on most purchases but offers more for certain travel and business-related categories. With this promotion, eligible transactions can yield up to 13 points per dollar.

Cardholders should review the full terms of their offers within their accounts as these are generally valid only for amazon.com and U.S. Amazon mobile app purchases. Exclusions include corporate gift cards and international sites owned by Amazon among others.

Eligibility for these offers varies between different cards and members. It's recommended that all Amex account holders check if they have access to this Amazon promotion or if they qualify for other discounts such as up to 50% off their next purchase when redeeming at least one Membership Rewards point.

For those without an American Express card who wish to benefit from similar future promotions, exploring available Amex cards might be worthwhile.
