Bombardier has announced that its Global 7500 aircraft has set a total of 75 speed records, further cementing its status as a leader in the ultra-long-range business jet market. Officially introduced in December 2018, the Global 7500 is recognized as the largest purpose-built business jet.

Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President of Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense at Bombardier, commented on these achievements: "These blazing new speed records continue to show that the Global 7500 is the proven, undisputed leader in its category and the business aircraft with amazing performance, bringing our customers to far-flung destinations quickly and reliably. What’s even more impressive about these records is they are flown as part of routine aircraft movements, including some missions that have passengers onboard. We have on more than one occasion been thrilled to have customers and prospects be aboard for the record-setting city pairs."

Among its notable accomplishments is an 8,225 nautical mile flight from Sydney to Detroit in October 2019. Other significant city-pair speed records include routes such as Miami to São Paulo, Tokyo to Los Angeles, and Jeddah to London. Recent additions feature flights like Tokyo to Hong Kong in three hours and 40 minutes and Los Angeles to Auckland in under 12 hours.

The Global 7500 was first announced by Bombardier in October 2010 but faced delays before entering service due to extended flight testing phases. The aircraft received certification from Transport Canada in September 2018 and from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) two months later.

Equipped with two General Electric Passport engines generating nearly 19,000 pounds of thrust each, this jet offers impressive performance specifications. It boasts a length of over eleven feet longer than previous models allowing for a larger cabin space within its class. With a typical cruise speed of 562 knots and a range extending up to 7,700 nautical miles, it operates efficiently at altitudes reaching up to 51,000 feet.
