Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) stands as a key hub for international travel, with its proximity to downtown Tokyo making it a preferred entry point over Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT). Major airlines from North America and Europe operate long-haul routes to Haneda, underscoring Japan's significant economic and cultural connections with these regions.

Eight major airlines currently offer some of the longest flights to Haneda, each providing unique passenger experiences. These airlines include American Airlines, Air Canada, Air France, ITA Airways, Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines (JAL), All Nippon Airways (ANA), and United Airlines.

ITA Airways operates a direct route from Rome's Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport to Haneda. "Italy and Japan share strong cultural and economic ties," which are reflected in the airline's service using the Airbus A350-900. The aircraft offers four cabin classes with features such as lay-flat seats in business class and Italian cuisine during the 12-hour flight.

Air France connects Paris Charles de Gaulle with Haneda using Airbus A350-900s and Boeing 777 models. "France and Japan have strong diplomatic, business, and cultural connections," supporting this key route in Air France’s network. Passengers can enjoy French cuisine prepared by renowned chefs along with advanced in-flight entertainment systems.

Air Canada's Toronto Pearson International to Haneda route is strategic for connecting Eastern Canada with Japan. Business travelers and tourists benefit from modern seating options on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering Canadian and Japanese cuisine.

Japan Airlines focuses on linking major North American cities like Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, and New York City with Tokyo. JAL uses state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000s for these routes. The airline provides premium inflight experiences featuring gourmet meals curated by renowned chefs.

United Airlines competes in the transpacific market by flying from Chicago O'Hare, Newark Liberty, and Washington Dulles to Haneda. The airline uses Boeing 777s and 787-10s equipped with Polaris business class seats that convert into fully flat beds.

All Nippon Airways offers multiple routes including those from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport to Haneda. ANA provides exceptional Japanese hospitality on Boeing 787s and 777-300ERs featuring spacious cabins known as "The Suite" in first class.

American Airlines' partnership with JAL enhances its presence in the US-Japan market despite fewer routes than competitors. Using Boeing 787 Dreamliners for flights from Dallas-Fort Worth or New York JFK to Haneda ensures a solid long-haul experience.

Delta Air Lines flies from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to Haneda using Airbus A350-900s. Delta One suites provide passengers with lie-flat seats featuring sliding doors for privacy during their journey.

The selection of these routes reflects strategic decisions based on economic ties between regions while ensuring seamless connectivity through various airline alliances like oneworld, Star Alliance, or SkyTeam.
