In the heart of Vietnam, FedEx is working to impact the lives of young learners through its “Bring Smiles to the Hearts” program. Now in its sixth year collaborating with local non-profit VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), this year’s initiative focuses on refurbishing rundown schools and providing children with safe, engaging environments for learning and growth. This mission gained urgency following Typhoon Yagi's devastation in September 2024, which left many schools in Northern Vietnam in ruins.

The collaboration between FedEx and VCF highlights the power of partnership in addressing social issues. VCF, dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children in Vietnam, shares FedEx’s vision of enhancing educational opportunities. Together, they have launched two projects aimed at revitalizing Hoa Mai Kindergarten in Tra Vinh (Mekong Delta) and Gia Sang Kindergarten in Thai Nguyen (Northern Vietnam).

Typhoon Yagi’s impact was catastrophic, with over 800 schools across 26 provinces suffering severe structural damage, leaving more than two million children without a place to learn [source]. Recognizing the urgent need for action, FedEx and VCF mobilized resources to refurbish Gia Sang Kindergarten by repairing classrooms and creating safe playgrounds.
